We met in Heidelberg last week with our partners at @Propylaeum@mastodon.social to explore how to make propylaeum.vitae “civersable.” 🤝
Great discussions on implementing versioning & citation features in WISS-KI systems, virtual research environments and linked open data management software based on Drupal. 💭 💻
Propylaeum.vitae shares linked open data on scholarly biographies from a dynamically updated triple store. CiVers will help preserve these dynamic views as citable versions. ✨

Did you know that web pages can be captured in different formats for archiving?
📦 WARC / WACZ Archives — Standard formats for full web archive collections
🌐 HTML Snapshots — Complete DOM capture at the moment of archiving
🔗 SingleFile HTML — Self-contained HTML with embedded resources
🗂️ MHTML (MHT) — Browser-supported single-file archive with HTML and assets
#CiVers is planned to support these formats, particularly those suitable for long-term #digitalpreservation #webarchiving #archives

Last week we explored the essentials of citability: versioning, PIDs, and #metadata But how can these be applied to existing web resources so researchers can cite them? 🤔
🛠️ Many resources in #archaeology and #DigitalHumanities weren’t built for this. Redesigning them would be costly and time-consuming.
💡 #CiVers is developing tools to create versioned snapshots and assign PIDs, without altering existing infrastructures.
