The internet has moved on from the network to the feed. A single post can reach millions, but only on the platform’s terms. Algorithms set the pace, surveillance sets the limits, and extraction pays the bills. The result is a landscape of isolated, fully surveilled islands. So, what is tactical media in the here and now? What can activists do with media today?

This collection brings together stories of community radio and DIY TV, meme ecologies, mesh networks, anti-scroll tactics, livestreams from war zones, and knitting workshops to better understand infrastructure. It maps what tactical media looks like after the feed: smaller, stranger, more local, and often slower, but still incisive.

@barfly@puntarella.party Questa forzatura della dicotomia mi fa riflettere anche sulla necessità crescente dei cosiddetti "spazi terzi", ovvero centri sociali e affini, che non sono completamente né pubblici né privati. Sono fondamentali per ricostruire una logica che vada oltre quella per cui lo spazio pubblico è un corridoio tra spazi privati. C'è bisogno di educazione sui beni comuni, che si può fare solo riproducendoli. Tuo figlio è fortunato in questo, complimenti a te.

@lvk@mastodon.online The technical characteristics are just a factor, and I agree it's not the most important. It is important to make environments inclusive though, no matter how small they are. That way one can carve out or build up their space and community with shared means. Nostr however is just a tool, it's community-makers duty to choose the right tools.
