@toiletpaper@shitposter.world Even the most die-hard #Bitcoin enthusiast would probably agree with you. Which isn’t to say the idea is flawed. On #Nostr, there’s an idea I really like called ‘ #Lightning/ #Zaps’. These are microtransactions on the blockchain. They take place without proof, are collected and then recorded on the blockchain as a single large commit. This happens in real time, so to speak, and is designed to support #artists, #journalists and content creators. 22 Zaps are worth about 0.01 cents. If you hear a song you like, you can ‘like’ it and the artist gets a tiny bit of money. I like this idea. This is also a problem in the #Federation. As long as paradise hasn’t yet dawned, we have to earn money. That’s impossible here. With Zaps, it’s possible, albeit only a very small amount.

Nutzt hier jemand öfter mal #Nostr? Irgendwie finde ich da kaum was, wenn ich was suche. Auch der Feed aktualisiert sich öfter mal nicht. Welche Android Apps verwendet ihr denn dafür?

Divine, a short video Vine-like experience, had their app go live this week. It includes vintage vines previously archived from the original platform. Instant nostalgia is a great hook. But the thing I find most interesting - this is a Nostr app. But it’s not being presented to users as such, at all. Lots of new Nostr users who don’t even know they ARE Nostr users. Flare just got a big update! We’ve added official Nostr support, including login, timelines, notifications, posting, replies, quotes, media upload, and relay management. On iOS, we’ve also refreshed key parts of the UI with cleaner navigation, and a more polished tab experience. What comes next will go even further: Flare is about to tear down one of the biggest walls in social networking: language itself. #Nostr #Fediverse

The fediverse, ATProto/Bluesky and Nostr are not competitors. The real competitors (Meta, X, YouTube) probably love to see such division in us. Let's remember who we're really up against, and stop trying to compete with other open platforms and protocols. Use that energy to convince people to leave the real competitors and join us. ≪Umzüge hin und her – Zusammenfassung≫ Die Idee, mich von allen (!) meinen #Root - #Server​n und #Domains zu trennen, war ja für mich irgendwie nicht völlig verkehrt.

Die zwei Tage, an denen ich mich dann auf nichteigenen Instanzen aufgehalten habe, haben mir aber gezeigt, dass es, zumindest für mich, wesentlich angenehmer ist, die Vorteile des #Selbsthosten​s weiterhin zu nutzen – trotz des damit verbundenen Aufwands.

Einige Vorteile hat diese kurze Zeit dann doch noch mit sich gebracht:

  • Ich habe mich von zwei Root-Servern mit den dazugehörigen Domains getrennt. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • #Bluesky nutze ich jetzt wieder direkt auf deren Servern (Selbsthosten bringt für mich überhaupt keine Vorteile), wenn auch mit einem eigenen Handle, und den Server für die #Geogram - Station habe ich ebenfalls gekündigt. Bei Letzterem warte ich erst einmal ab, bis die Software noch (wesentlich!) ausgereifter ist.

  • Auf meiner #Mastodon - Instanz habe ich mehr als 5.000 Nachrichten von mir gelöscht. 😆

Mein Hauptserver bleibt allerdings, und so kann ich alle Vorzüge, 1.500 Zeichen auf Mastodon, einen schnellen #Diaspora - Pod und auch die #Nostr Verifikation, weiterhin nutzen.

Ich habe mir heute übrigen den Nostr Client Nosotros auf einen meiner Server installiert. Für meine (!) Anforderungen gibt es zurzeit, so weit ich bisher sehen konnte, keine bessere Alternative.
