@penguin42@mastodon.org.uk v2 of the rxrpc fix is there, along with its dependencies (as best I could work out). v3 of that fix improved performance slightly, which I think is a very minor consideration in the circumstances.

There were some issues with backporting the fixes, but kernel updates for Dirty Frag have now been released for #Debian unstable and the 3 supported stable releases. I also updated the backported kernel packages (6.1 for bullseye, 6.12 for bookworm, 7.0 for trixie) but binaries are not yet available.

@SwiftOnSecurity@infosec.exchange I worked for a company that got into mobile content distribution early on, first providing custom browsers on PDAs (receiving content via a PC) and then using a translating proxy to serve WAP phones. Mostly this was daily editions of newspapers for paying subscribers. At some point, though, we really did serve porn subscriptions (still pictures only) for PDAs.

Replying to @josch@floss.social
@josch@floss.social I think the positive options are only needed to override sbuild.conf, though, right? (Or to cross-build arch:all packages, but that's not a sensible thing to try.) You could implement the dpkg-buildpackage --build option as well as --build arch since the two sets of valid arguments should be disjoint, but overloading the option that way would be messy and probably confusing.

Building only arch:any/all Debian packages:

  • dpkg-buildpackage: -B/-A
  • pbuilder: --binary-arch/--binary-indep
  • sbuild: --no-arch-all/--no-arch-any
  • apt build-dep: --arch-only/--indep-only

Of course I can't remember all 4 of those pairs so I have to have to look at the man page nearly every time.

@marcohackney@todon.eu @chasalin@mastodon.chasalin.nl I think that's in part an abuse of the Posted Worker directive. The employer pretends that these workers are only temporarily posted to the Netherlands and that their normal place of work is in another country with lower employment rights and wages

@alexia@shrimp.starlightnet.work @Starcross@mk.absturztau.be @syhr@social.coop So far as I know there is no such register in the UK. We have a whole lot of different incomplete and inconsistent databases for the NHS, births and deaths, naturalisation, passports, residence for council tax purposes, etc. Each of those either includes some non-citizens or excludes some citizens. Besides which, the petition site is supposed to be open to both citizens and residents.
