doomscrolling affects mood to the point of putting people in suicidal loops. that's a peer reviewed fact. exposing people who may have disabilities that include anxiety disorders to "politics", by which i think you mean, seriously subjective individual interpretations of current events, is awful behaviour. arguing against CWs is little different from arguing against installing ramps for wheelchairs. it's all ableism.
not being political is actually fine because politics are broken, a joke, and they exclude people like me. not being political is fine for disabled folk.
equating being apolitical to *literally* watching a murder without doing anything, equating being apolitical to automatically being pro hate speech, equating being apolitical with not caring, is a massive oversimplification and it's unfair to thousands of people. everyone really.
people can be apolitical and still be active in their lives and communities. going to one local protest against for random example, a racist city councillor or something, holds way more effect than reading @ john392746 @ mastodondotsocial's most recent take on reTHUGlican donald RUMP's corruption, vote blue no matter who, etc etc.
taking care of your chosen family does more for the world than reading 30 pornographically sad articles about palestine that are being farmed for your clicks, until you get so upset that you have a panic attack and throw up
can we move past this virtue-in-suffering mother teresa bullshit and stop complaining about CWs? there are a billion different ways to have a positive impact on the world and reading asinine monetized political takes on social media to the point of clinical depression doesnt help anyone
