@TheQuinbox@dragonscave.space Also the storage tier upgrade quests - at least the last two - seem out of line with everything else (the first one is pretty rough too, but at least possible).
Since STORAGE_COST_GROWTH = 1.5, upgrading storage the 200 time would cost around 2.4*10^37 gold.
Sorry to hit you with a bunch of stuff at once; my wife and I just both got excited and played the game all the way through to the end. Very fun little game!
@TheQuinbox@dragonscave.space Looking at the code, it seems like
function prestigeSlotCostMult() { return Math.max(0.1, 1 - getPrestigeBonus("slot_cost_pct") / 100); }
means that the slot discount is effectively capped at 90%, which I hit long ago, and I've been vainly pursuing larger -% for a while now.
Also means that the -% rewards are increasingly valuable (-0 -> -10% = slots cost 90% as much as before, vs -80%->-90% = slots cost half as much as before)... until you hit the cap and suddenly they're worth nothing at all.
Wonder how it would feel if they stacked multiplicative, rather than additive? So -10% and -10% = 81% rather than 80. It's already all running through a reducer in getPrestigeBonus(), so trying it out would be a one-line change. 🤔 :fox_cowboy:
I have so much oregano. Planted some in my greenhouse two years ago, and it's been loving life. Unfortunately it's been loving life right where I'm putting a raised bed, so (most of it) it had come out.
I weighed 224g of fresh leaves, after the stems were removed; that is a *lot* of an herb! Dried it in the oven, lightly crushed, and now I have oh so much. :D
Anyone in Seattle want to trade some for other homemade or homegrown food? Last year I had a great time exchanging apple cider for hot sauce; now I have oregano and am super excited to share again.
Edit: Fixed typos, that's why I try never post from my phone. >.>
@urbanistorg@mstdn.social - Your federation to Mastodon seems to be broken; I've been getting articles via your RSS feed, but they haven't been showing up on the account here since early May.
Fresh dirt delivery this morning - compost, manure and sand in roughly equal parts, for my raised beds. Has a little odor, but not terrible, will finish mellowing out of the next few weeks I expect.
Getting it from the dump site to the greenhouse is a bit of a chore - I shovel it through a hole in my fence, down a 4' drop into my wheelbarrow in the yard. Then roll the barrow across the yard, over the lip into the greenhouse, and lever it up on the edge of the raised bed to dump in.
2 1/2 cubic yards of dirt is about 2 1/2 tons; I'm rather out of shape, so only got maybe half a ton done today. I'll keep at it though, hopefully get this done before it rains (moving wet dirt is sheer pain).
15 minutes ago, that cropped path down the center was all tall grass like on the right. Scythes are fun. :D
Could a powered mower have done it faster? Yes. Cheaper? No. My scythe will last the rest of my life (and beyond), no batteries, fuel or replacement parts required. Just a whetstone every 10 minutes and a brief hammer session once a year.
Also wow I have gotten out of shape over the winter, that should not have left me as winded as it did.
Requesting recommendations - I'm in the mood for a nice tower defense game. Desktop, not mobile.
I know nothing of the genre, haven't played much of it beyond the flash game roots 20 years ago.
Anyone have a fun one to try? I lean more on the slow-paced / strategy side of things, rather than quick-twitchy/flashy, generally speaking.
I would quote-boost this so I can add a CW, but my client is telling me I can't. So instead a reply-boost.
passed to me from a minnesotan on the ground in minneapolis, boiled down into bullet points: ...
I do definitely like being able to pause mid-battle (and still interact with things while paused), kind of a requirement for me to enjoy the genre.
