@brhfl yeah that was the one that first got me excited about them. By the time I’d saved up they’d moved back to the click wheel but they sure were cool. 😊

@JoshGrams @ahihi The lack of file download links in my case was more of a UX decision to ensure episodes would be presented with show notes as the primary reason for the podcast is promoting artists but if it’s a thing people would find useful I may have to rethink.

@brhfl I suspect they're talking about ‘mainstream' podcasts — but I've never considered these to be podcasts in the real sense. Because if I can't put it on my iPod (5th gen click wheel... lovely) it's not a podcast. ;)

@ahihi all shows (apart from some guest mixes) are available via RSS feeds so any podcast player should work. I don't use RSS personally for reading stuff but I think RSS reader apps would also work for getting the MP3s as they're all linked in there — admittedly I haven't tried that myself (I'll make a note to) but there's no gating of the files.

The Verge thinks it’s time to retire the word podcast as the majority of shows are locked into ecosystems like Spotify or are videos hosted on YouTube.

I say it’s time to reclaim podcast as a term that means an easily downloadable non-DRM audio file.

Audio Interface shows are podcasts. You can listen wherever you want including, yes, your old iPod.
