making a dev environment on a new computer feels like stepping on a series of rakes -- oops, need to install node. oops, need to install homebrew.
I've been to a handful of different zine fests this year throughout the Pacific Northwest and I have noticed a reoccurring theme of conversations/zines about how to create your own website and a loud desire to move away from social media silos.
There is a lot of excitement for neocities in particular, which is a great project that I love, but I think artists could also really benefit from something like POSSE (indieweb.org/POSSE) and/or a move towards using ActivityPub. However, these resources seem to be for a technical audience.
tonight is the beaver full moon! this year it is a supermoon, extra large and bright.
I would like to move myself (and my entire family) off of Spotify. What are folks using instead?
every time I look at neocities I am reminded that I love websites, actually.
