@freddy I would guess because implementing blink in JS has been trivial for a long time. Marquee would require smooth animations that maybe were only available later

I'll be in Boston with a couple of days to kill in just over a week. What stuff should I see? I prefer outdoor things, particularly where I can use my camera but weather is not looking promising so some indoor options would be good too.

@flod@fosstodon.org I found I got a lot more value out of Twitter. It took work to tune out the bad parts but there was a lot to enjoy there too. Now Mastodon is the only social media I will have on my phone because it is the only social media that is so dull that I don't find myself constantly going back to it to see the new content, because there isn't any. Is that a win?

@amy@tech.lgbt I guess one thing that Matomo has over Plausible is that it can work via server logs which is nice for me as I have about a dozen websites and so rather than installing it into each it can just scrape the shared server logs.

@amy@tech.lgbt I have a Matomo instance that I routinely ignore. I'd say it was more of a pain to install than I'd like (and at least once required some manual intervention to update) and while it looks very powerful I can't say I've ever figured out how to do anything more involved than looking at visitor counts over time. So I guess perhaps this is an anti-recommendation?
