@billgoats@bitbang.social my thought of them is probably a used bike that's good and is in good condition, that's suitable to use as a commuter, where the geometry works for you, and the seat and handle bars are adjusted correctly, will result in a be better experience than shoving an ebike conversion kit on the 26" mountain bike you might have in the back shed. I feel like a lot of the buzz on ebikes, is just people have had inadequate bikes, so think riding bikes is hard. I definitely see the need for ebikes, but the problem with cheap ebikes is, they are objectively terrible bikes with a motor slapped onto them. So a good bike would probably be a better overall experience. Also, the batteries and chargers in those cheap conversion kits are often fire hazards. And a lot of them probably aren't even legal in Australia or Europe, because they'd be following the US guidelines which are way less strict.

My approach is generally to memorise 3 digits, type them in, then the next 3. But I will force myself to remember all 6 in this scenario. (The time saving of this endeavour, was completely eroded by the fact I felt like I needed to tell the internet I did that.)

@annierau the last one. I don't think a bear being hit by 1 vehicle, which launches the bear into oncoming traffic, where it travels through the windscreen and out the rear window of another vehicle, killing the 2 occupants, a common cause of death. That's quite an incident

@Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt a friend today realised their clock in their car was off by an hour, so they updated the clock to DST. The thing is, we go back to regular time next weekend, essentially ensuring the car will only have the correct time on the clock for 7.5 days in the year since DST started. I honestly love that. It's chaotic good energy. Taking 6 months to notice a problem that has minor to no implications, and fixing it then and there even though the problem would have resolved itself in just over a week
