The goal of this project was to take a photo, posterize it, and make three paintings. One monochromatic, one complementary, and one analogous. I’m really happy with the way the middle one turned out, but I think the other two turned out a bit dark.
The first image is the final product. The rest are the process. The last image is the image I started out with.
I'm officially crazy.
Last night I was walking into the house and our dog, Becky, was in the way. We sometimes call her Becky Boop as a reference to Betty Boop. I occasionally say "beep beep" like a car to get people to move. Last night I said "beep beep boop" to a dog. I sound like a computer.
The goal of this assignment was to create four designs. One with bilateral or quadrilateral symmetry, one with asymmetrical, one with radial, and one with crystallographic balance. We also had to meet certain color schemes which I've listed below. I forgot to take any pictures of the process.

Bottom left: Complementary
Bottom right: psychology of color (happy, aggressive, passive, energetic, ...)
File under things I never thought I'd see:
I wanted to get my caffeinated beverage for the day. I walked up to the vending machine and it wouldn't take my credit card because it wasn't properly connected to the internet. Yes, I know this is pitiful, but still.
This assignment was to paint a color wheel in an interesting way. My original idea was for them to look like a puddle, but it kind of reminds me of Salvador Dali’s clocks.

@stephenrobles Interesting. I would have assumed they also offered full res files on nasa.gov, but Flickr looks to have the highest res. Maybe Flickr is just upscaling…

There are companies that are legitimately trying to do good work but get slapped with the “bad because they are American” tag when they don’t really have a choice and don’t support it either. I totally get your desire to move away from mega corps like Meta and Google though.

@TechConnectify Such a good point that over-lighting does not mean good lighting. Well placed lamps and accent lighting do wonders in making a place feel inviting.
