Yaiy, it's so cool to see at least one familiar face from the @battlemesh in this #Arte #documentary about #MeshNetworks. And @libremesh is featured, too!

My initial reflex of that thumbnail of cardboard with the words "no consent = no content" had me think about #multicast:
https://netzpolitik.org/2026/digitale-gewalt-das-lass-ich-mir-nicht-nehmen/
Especially as that's how @dentangle and @onepict have often described multicast.

@maxschrems initially I was like, you mean a 180° seat swap, not 360°, right? But then read it again, it really does sound like 360°.

@pid_eins super interesting. At @ffhl had been brainstorming with @cuechan a while back how one could provision an #OpenWrt based #Freifunk VM. Hadn't heard of #smbios before, but that seems elegant. On the other hand, it would also be interesting to provision an #OpenWrt WLAN router. For that the only option is a USB stick, I guess? Is systemd planing to add USB provisioning support? Is there a recommended/existing (file/filesystem) format for USB provisioning?

@dentangle on a positive note for git-send-email I do love how easy it is to add random people to the recipients.
(But I also hate it that even with the Linux kernel ./scripts/get_maintainers.pl I have to check, decide and manually copy several email addresses. And then I have to add quotes around each of them. A lot of places where it is easy to make small mistakes...)

@dentangle or I again and again forget to add the "v3" etc. to the compose email subject... and in the worst case one noisily has to resend the whole patchset for a minor, formal mistake. In Git web forges one can easily fix such small things afterwards with only minimal noise.
And I'm saying that as someone who has submitted most of their OpenSource patches via git-send-email :D.

@dentangle ok, of git-send-email I'm really not a fan of :D. I've seen notable kernel maintainers failing to properly apply my patches, causing encoding issues with my author name (but maybe we can blame my parents for that :P). And then Linux net wants custom [PATCH] tag formats (and I often forget, if it's supposed to be [PATCH net-next v2] or [PATCH v2 next] or similar... and then Patchwork and CIs etc. still try to somehow figure something out from that... imo it's a patchy patch mess :D.

@dentangle that now makes me wonder why this ticket was closed without any comment: https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/423228
If it were possible to do cross-instance forks and PRs then I'd be all-in for #Gitlab.
