6:00AM: 56F, overcast.
Chance of showers, mostly sunny.
Meh.
Just another Alaskan, loving my life in the SE with all the wonderful rain in Sitka! (Seriously - rain - I love it!) I work for the State of Alaska in a nonpartisan capacity, so there won't be politics on my feed, but I am a political junkie IRL. I love growing things, taking pictures of things growing, being on my partner's commercial trolling boat, and did I mention I love taking pictures? Former New Mexican, former English teacher. (Yes, I will die on the hill of the Oxford comma.)

5:45AM: 54F, light rain, fog/mist.
Another perfect morning here in the middle of SE Alaska. There will, most likely, be rain today.
Tomorrow will be sunny, so win/win for everyone!

5:45AM: 49F, fair.
Mostly cloudy today with a chance of showers.
This aligns with my after work plans: I'm walking home after leaving my car at the airport for a friend who comes in at 11 tonight.
Walking home in the rain while poetic, can be rather cold and miserable.

6:30AM: 50F, mostly cloudy.
Showers and calm to light winds.
Highs in the low 60's for the next few days.
Perfect weather.
No notes.

Lots of 5s in that header. Looks like we'll also have close to 5 days of showers/chance of showers. Lows in the mid-50s.
As long as it stays cloudy, I'll be happy...giving everyone I meet a....
High five.

6:15AM: 49F, sunny.
One sunny break, then the clouds/showers return. I'll allow it. Sun people need their fix too...I'm not a monster!
My Fairbanks turn & burn went great yesterday, other than being reeeeeally tired this morning. Two new implants screwed into my jaw and hardly feeling it this morning.
If you're ever in need of dental work in Fairbanks, Dr. Webster is your gal. She and her office rock. Plus she's the only periodontist in AK. 😉

Noon: 60F, cloudy in Sitka, 56F, partly cloudy in Fairbanks. Man...it feels CHILLY in the Interior. Much cooler than Sitka.
Hang on....
I'm gonna say it...
I have to say it...
But it's a DRY cold.

Woke up to some lovely rain once again! Thursday looks to be mostly sunny, then kinda sunny Friday, then rain for the weekend.
See - THIS is equal opportunity weather. Something for everyone.

6:00AM: 46F, light rain.
Woke up to the lovely pitapat of rain on the roof and looked out to see a foggy/misty morning.
I'm at the point in the season where I start cursing how long the light lasts in the AM and PM, so waking up to a wee bit of darkness was most welcome.

6:00AM: 37F, light rain, a bit of fog.
The NWS has taken to doing a split, North/South thing for the panhandle. North (Yakutat, Haines, Juneau) and South (POW Island, Ketchikan, Wrangell) - each get their own forecast in the SEAK weather banner. Besides reminding me of that miniseries in the 80's, (Patrick Swayze!!) it's a tossup whether Sitka will go with the North or the South.
Much like Kansas before the Civil War.

5:45AM: 32F, light snow.
Looks like another 3-4" overnight - I'll know when I go out & measure the snow on my car. Could be another 1-2 today.
March came in like a lion and has roared ever since. A month of snow that will. not. stop.
Sitka just isn't prepared for this. Several pieces of snow removal equipment broken down, no sand/gravel, no nothing.
Thank goodness for ATVs with plow attachments!
I'll measure in our back yard after work today.

6:30AM: 33F, light snow.
Under a winter weather advisory until 10AM. We got another inch or so overnight. Could be another 2-3 today...after 2-3 yesterday.
We have the annual Blessing of the Fleet today and the Mariner's Memorial. I'm President of the group that co-sponsors. Every year we have the Harbor Master's boat take a flower wreath and flowers from mourners out to sea.
No boat this year because they are too busy clearing snow from the docks.

Looks like another inch or so overnight...after another couple of inches yesterday.
Heavy snow showers expected Wed. & Thurs.
Could be another 2-4"....or 6-8".
Step right up gents/gentles and roll those dice!
John is going fishing (finally!) so I will be manning (womanning?) the snow shovel.
I. Am. Tired. Of. This. Ridiculous. Snow. But at least we don't live in Juneau! ha!

6:15AM: 29F, light snow.
The snow "showers" (really raging blizzards for about 15 minutes) throughout yesterday finally settled down and then it really began to snow.
We had 5" overnight measured by my quilter's ruler.
With more to come. We're under a winter weather advisory until 10AM.
One cool thing: I just saw a huge flash of lightning out over the Sound! NWS said there might be thunderstorms amid this nutso weather.
