I finally got of my arse and rode my bike this morning. It's been nearly two years since I last rode it.
I needed a lot more assist than I used to.

Be very careful about public demand. If the UK had consulted the public on the death penalty we would still be hanging people. Another later public demand resulted in the UK's withdrawal from the EU.

Is this a problem of the software or because documents have been produced using manual formatting rather than styles?

In the UK the government has embraced Open Standards and chosen ODF 1.2 for use across government. People doing business with government are supposed to be using this. It should, but in practice doesn't, mean that the larger companies should be demanding sub contractors are using ODF as well.

On this date in 1977, I entered the gates of HMS Raleigh, the initial entry training establishment, in Torpoint, Cornwall, to join the Royal Navy.
15th March that year was a Tuesday. The weather was wet and windy and the train between Exeter and Plymouth was delayed by several hours. There were quite a few fellow recruits on that train. We were all late arriving. Not a great start to my future career 😄

In answer to your final afterthought question, I'm guessing it's because we're on different instances and you only see posts to users we both follow. But you probably already know that and just posed the question for your own purposes.

You also seem to be under the misapprehension that it was only the west that used the expertise of nazi scientists after WW2. I suppose you haven't heard of Operation Osoaviakhim in 1946 that transported several thousand scientists, engineers and their families from Soviet occupied Germany to USSR.

You could have imparted your superior knowledge in your previous reply. Instead you chose to ask a snarky question that did nothing to inform anyone.
That left me to research the answer myself. Wickold Pilecki allowed himself to be captured and interred in Aushwitz where he was able to report on and smuggle out information about what was going on in the camp. It's true that Western allies chose to suppress that information.

I've not heard of the em dash being used in that context before. I tend to use an ellipsis ... although I'm not sure if that is even grammatically correct. Is the em dash country specific?

I didn't see a typo. I thought the other character, eager to reply, had just interrupted the young witch's question.

If you don't think people get confused by using an incorrect name for something just check the number of US citizens who voted to get rid of "Obama Care" and are now shocked to find the "Affordable Care Act" is being dismantled.

- No
- I doubt he's even aware of any claimed advertising.
- No, I had to research it to be certain before I replied.
- I had an account before Musk. It was crap even then. It was only ever used to contact companies who would only respond if shamed on a public platform. I got rid of it years ago.

That is what it is called by Grok-Imagine. If the spokesperson changes the name how is anybody supposed to know what he's referring to. Sure the quote could have been made clearer in the text but it is more obvious if the video clip is viewed rather than jumping to incorrect conclusions.
