It’s been educational to see so many anti-#Trump people row in behind #Trump’s football corruption. Whether it’s #Camus ‘Everything I know came from football’ or Shankly’s tongue in cheek, ‘Football isn’t a matter of life & death, it’s more important than that’, #Football is a secular religion in Europe, every club has its Hymnal of chants, that’s why the reaction to the #US corruption has been so visceral. *Don’t* mess with football.

That said the DWP legislation is very bad, likewise the proliferation of CCTV and facial recognition. OTH the gov was forced to back off, for now at least, from their Identity Card plan.

OTH, if the post 9/11 rules applied during the civil war in Northern Ireland, the RAF would have been visiting, Boston & New York on a regular basis. I defy anyone to tell me that the World or the US is in a better place after the War on Terror.

Much of the fault lies with us as developers, we have a terrible tendency to make our tools & ecosystems part of our identity, and to elevate people to cult status. Perhaps we all need to grow up a bit, laugh at the washing machine obsessions, argue back against the bigotry, take no 💩from the McNugget Philosophers.
