I'm CIS and have never been able to explain why I am CIS, why I am happy with my gender matching my biological sex. I just am. And I don't believe any CIS person really could. So why on earth should any trans person be expected to?

For #internationalwomensday at work, me and a few other women have been tasked with recording a max 10 second video saying 'when I gave.......I gained'
Yes it's so transactional I know 😬
I want to say something along the lines of 'when I gave myself permission to stop editing myself for the comfort of mens egos, I gained a reputation as blunt and aggressive among those who don't matter, which I don't give a shit about, but I also gained self respect and confidence to say what needs to be said'
But, I know from experience that will be deemed too negative or controversial and not used.
So mastadon hive mind, help me out please cos I'm not using chatGpt 😁

Far too many people, myself included, relied on #facebook for #community
Now this roll out of disabling accounts and asking for video selfies to prove identity are going to leave a lot of those people in a quandary. Submit a selfie or lose connection to community.
I refuse, and i'm not sad about no longer being able to access facebook because I am done with the trolls and bots. But I am devastated that i've instantly lost connection to local groups and old friends with whom I never exchanged numbers, because we relied on facebook.
I dont know how to build community without it.
I mean I know i'll get over it, i'll find other ways of connecting and i'm sure I can ask my eldest daughter to message old friends with my number for me, but right now this feels incredibly cruel and intentional. Meta know that people will panic about losing their communities and connections and upload those video selfies.
