IzzyOnDroid curates free, open-source Android apps into an F-Droid-compatible repository. We distribute APKs built and signed by the corresponding developers—after scanning for safety and more, making the scan results transparent. Reproducibility is verified by rebuilding apps to match the distributed APK, while the original developer-signed version is added to our catalog. If verified, the app is marked there as reproducible.

We've greatly improved our monthly quality checker, which now also reports, a.o.:

* if a disappeared or archived repo has returned
* if APK size was reduced and allows us to keep more releases
* if associated websites have moved or disappeared

After the last run, metadata for 100+ apps were updated. We hope you enjoy the increased quality 🤗

(2/2) … note that a lack of Reproducible Build (RB) doesn't mean the app doesn't match the source code, just that we couldn't 100% confirm it. Often this is due to build tool issues or because we can't fully recreate the developer's setup. A lack of RB is nothing to panic about, but having RB is extra confirmation. Currently, we have RB for over 870 apps (64.5% of IzzyOnDroid) and this number is growing constantly. For those who use #NeoStore, one of our recommended clients, we have exciting news: they just added a setting that puts you in control of #ReproducibleBuilds.

Settings › Service › Disable auto-update on non-reproducible updates

If you want your RB apps only auto-updated if the update was also confirmed to fully match the source code, consider turning it on for extra security.

You can then still manually update it, regardless of reproducibility status.

We've reworked our App Inclusion Policy, to improve its formatting and to make it better to understand. Criteria are now grouped, so it should be easier to "follow the thread". The rewrite also includes more details on our stance concerning AI.

As there's some issue template stuck (most likely added involuntarily when we were put on some trial for "GitLab Ultimate" years ago), and we were unable to reach GitLab support for help, we'll have to prematurely archive our last remaining repository over there – as people continue open issues there which no longer belong.

If you have a still-open issue there waiting for your response, please act quickly, as soon you won't be able to anymore!
