@isotopp@infosec.exchange Hat irgend jemand mal aufgeschrieben, wo den die zusätzliche (Compute-)Kapazität eigentlich hingeht? Also ist der Bedarf hauptsächlich wegen mehr Nutzern, mehr Nutzung oder anderer Nutzung da? Ja, in der Zukunft natürlich alles wegen AI usw., aber das ist ja auch in den letzten 20 Jahren eine wesentliche Steigerung. Wieviel mal mehr Leistung braucht denn das durch-den-Feed-scrollen heute so im Vergleich zu vor 5, 10 und 15 Jahren?

Currently trying to move my 'transparent SSL-pass-through VPS' setup from pure nginx (which never worked right with the certificates) to using #rathole https://github.com/rathole-org for a few-ports-only forwarding tunnel between the VPS and my home server.

I would be much more confident with this setup than letting a wireguard tunnel access my whole home network and then trying to close that gap again with firewall rules.

@kolya @lkundrak Comparing this to a picture of today at the same location, other than the models of cars and trams, most of the difference is the grime and dirt everywhere. That is for sure a product of the environmental pollution by cars and industry and a sign for neglect towards the human being. I'm wondering if this was the reason for or a product of nobody caring much about the *look* of things in the public space.

@viermalbe Tried to re-start what we had with Google Reader several times over the years (e.g. with Nextcloud Reader), but it never took of. Lets give it another try with this. I love the idea of a pre-curated list of content generated by real authors. Not mixing with news outlets and other publishers. The Fediverse integration is just the cherry on top. Thanks for creating this!

@EventOrg@ruhrpott.social Well, we are really bad at promoting our public events. We usually announce them on the blog a few weeks before, which gets replicated onto the commercial social media platforms and into the Fediverse via blog integrations, but then the poor host of the event needs to do anything else manually as good as he can or he'll be in front of empty seats. Do you have some kind of fixed plan where you post initially? When to do follow-ups? Do you involve others to increase reach?

Dear hackspace community on the Fediverse: Does any of you have some form of codified (e.g. computer code, but also just rules or processes like check-lists) for promoting your public events?

Looking to follow some best practices about how to build a promotion-pipelline that any member can use, regardless of how well connected he/she/they is personally.

Especially beyond the usual social media posts. Do you do posters/flyers/stickers with templates? Local print media?

@fribbledom Setting up the build environment is 80% of the projects effort and we still, after decades, have not come up with a good and standardized way of preserving that within the actual repo. dockerfiles (if build on top of a vanilla base image) are actually a way in the right direction. (Not because of docker itself, but because they explain the setup)
