Tomorrow's route cut 30km short, with a new start time at 13:45. Well that will help with over heating the riders for sure ... #TdF2026 #TourdeFrance #Cycling

Well the run didn't remove the depression and sadness of how dirty the yUK has become. People really don't care anymore do they. I tried for most of this week to ignore it, but what I saw last night, just tipped me over. Going out on a run on the mainland, I would sometimes come back with a bit of litter, a wrapper of some sort and now and again a drink bottle/can. Everything could easily fit in a dog poop bag and a side pocket of my running vest. We rarely had to do any litter picking...

First run after nearly two weeks heat-atus to see if the legs and lungs still knew how to do this thing. Could probably have gone further but didn't want to have a blowout on the first run back. Now I just got to get back into the habit again, run off a few months worth of French baked goods, run a marathon before we return to the land of crossaints ;) #Trailrunning #RunnersOfMastodon #Running #RunningwithDogs #BarefootRunning

Ok let's see what we can blame this slow run on. Much work during the week so no training, cold weather, shoelaces that wouldn't stay tied up and the carbs drink not doing anything to help speed me up. Yeah I think that will do, nothing to do with the little visit to a local brewery yesterday ;) We have been reading up and kinda understand that when running long, for me, and the lass cycling up the various Cols here. We are rather low on carbs, we are reasonably ok on protein i...

What a good bit of running this was, glorious views of still snow capped mountains and views down into the valley and out into the flatland below. Not a technical route which meant by the end of the run it was full of other people that had the audacity to be out in the public

What a glorious day for a run and a stunning location. Views of 2700m+ mountains with fresh snow, greener than green valleys and view out to the flatlands down below. Not a technical route which meant that near the end we had to share the trails with other people that had the audacity to be out in public. I think I saw more humans today than I have over the last year combined when out running. Not used to getting these weird looks when singing or talking to myself ;) #Trailrunning #BarefootRunn...

Happy international Day of the Podenco \o/ And this little clownn of a mutt, is clearly happy that she caught a little lizard and was showing it off to us, holding it in her mouth with it's hind legs and tail sticking out. We managed to distract Penny enough to drop it and get her away. Hope the lizard life ain't too traumatic after being carried around by a Podenco. So here she is telling me how good fun it was catching and tasty lizards are ... #Podenco #DiaDelPodenco #RescueD...

Here's your chance to stop getting US food standards and big corporations telling us what is clean/healthy to eat. "Tell your Parliamentarians before it’s too late! The EU is planning to significantly weaken GMO requirements with a new regulation for new GMOs, also referred to as ‘new genomic techniques’. If the regulation goes through, there would be no more prior safety checks, mandatory traceability, or on-package labelling for new GMOs. This would mean that GM products c...

Well Erykha Badu your absolutely brilliant album Baduizm isn't an album to be losing a lung or two on a 1800m high Pyreneean mountain top to. It is more a sitting next to a log fire while looking at a Pyreneean mountain top album. As we were going up, the 250m directly up, we were passed going downhill by two clearly local runners storming down. I kept an eye on them and they were zooming along the bit of flat trail that I deemed to be rough and near un-runable. #Running #RunningwithD...

Well why we call something steep and sometimes put a quite naughty expletive in front really showed its face today. The two first bits of up, gave me a good workout and the last one was knackering but fun as it was a scramble up to the peak. Sadly the downhill was very steep also so not much running as there were many a zigzag and tree roots hidden under fallen leaves. So it was more a power hike than a run today. #Trailrunning #Running #RunnersOfMastodon #RunningwithDogs #barefootRunning

In the mist of shite political news from around the world, here's a good news story, the Danish Foreign Minister give the Egyptian Foreign Minister a Lego set of the Pyramids as a gift, just look at his face ;) #Politics #Denmark #Egypt #Lego #Joy #GoodNews https://egyptianstreets.com/2025/11/03/danish-foreign-minister-gifts-lego-pyramid-to-celebrate-grand-egyptian-museum-opening/

A question for French runners in that French France, crocodiles, alligators or swamp thing? Managed to stay dry untill the last km, the lass told me that it rained heavily all the time I was running but the trees kept us dry for 8km and then we got soaked. https://youtu.be/FFvvLuomw0Y (The Grid - Swamp thing) #Trailrunning #BarefootRunning #RunningwithDogs #Running #Trailrunning

Watching Cocodona 250 on IG. It is showing really why I'm starting to love ultra trail running so much. They are all so nice to the supporters, volunteers and the other runners, really like a group of friend out and about. Good example from HardRock 100 when Courtney was setting course record, she had time to stop to talk to a fan, a small girl, while "sprinting" for the line. Though at this year's Cocodona the people who ran one aid station, after 80miles, were...

Well that route turned to be maze and a obstacle course. So many paths going in any direction that wasn't on a map and loads of fallen trees along with streams crossing the trails or was it the other way around. Lost a kilometer but the climbing over and under stuff made up for that. #Trailrunning #Running #RunnersOfMastodon #RunningwithDogs #BarefootRunning

What a brilliant little run, got all ready to get wet to the sound of rain on the roof of HQ and low clouds. As we opened the door it quickly turned to clear blue skies and sun warmed everything up fast. I did the longer and steeper route to the view point and meet up with the beautiful lass and Miss MoneyPenny. Where we enjoyed the stunning views, before we headed back together. #Trailrunning #RunnersOfMastodon #Running #BarefootRunning #RunningwithDogs

A few days ago I visited a little brewery in one of our favourite valleys in the Pyrenees. Today and yesterday I was working my way through some of their offerings, so far so very good. Great joy drinking these while knowing that a few I have hiked or cycled up in the past ;) #Beer #Brewery #LocalBrewery #MicroBrewery #Ale #DrinkResponsible #PaysToy #Pyrenees #BrasseriePaysToy #Cycling #Biketooter #TourDeFrance

The hills come alive to the sound of DAVE! DAVE! DAVE!* Managed to get up just shy of 2000m, could feel it in the lungs and legs, so not so fast. The weather also started to turn with a rather chilly bite to it. We managed to find some snow which the boy loves to have a bit of zoomies in, how does he have the energy to do that after a 3km uphill ;) * You have probably seen the meme of a Marmot shouting DAVE! Dunno what he is up to but they are clearly looking for him early morning. Which woke...

I know I posted this over on IG, but the people it needs to reach are mainly over there. If you are on IG please like it to help it reach more. I just visited Hautacamp and a "Skoda We Love Cycling" plastic sticker on the road is still there and breaking up and bits of it is spread all over this beautiful Pyrenees mountain. I hope that we can get them to come and clean up what's left and hopefully they will in the future not leave litter like that around. https://www...

On the other side of that 2800'ish meter high lump of rocks is our spirit home in the Pyrenees. It's been good to explore other valleys and col's but we can't wait to get "home" again. Yes, some of these mountains passes I've cycled in bygone years and even more has been done by the ever so stunning lass. She is out there riding one right now as I type this ;) #Trailrunning #Running #RunnersOfMastodon #BarefootRunning #RunningWithDogs

I hope the hive mind can help with finding a book for me. Many moons ago, back in the late 80s I think it was. I'm very sure I heard this story on Danish radio. Set in Sweden a child with divorced parents had to travel between them by flying back and forth from northern and southern Sweden. Back then you could "hand over" a child to the airport and flight staff for them to accompany the children to the destination. In the story the staff had help someone urgently and pa...

Well thanks to the Orange Loon who is keen on world destruction, sleep didn't reach the required hours last night. Therefore I was somewhat happy that a storm had caused loads of fallen trees and branches in the forest, so it was more walking than running. Though it felt more like a tough mudder event, bar the mud. So I got a full body workout with all the ducking and climbing through and over fallen trees. I even stepped on one branch with my left foot, this lifted it up and I wacked my...

Nice 10k out thru a forest on trail and track, with the help of Cypress Hill and their Black Sunday album. Shocked that I still, 33 years later, remember the lyrics.
