Staked out until 10pm last night to try stopping a roving hoard of racoons from destroying a family friends garden, but they decided not to show. It was nice out, so I still enjoyed the evening. There are allegedly at least 8 of them in the group.

There's cupronickle in oldschool runescape now? How long before an automation skill with factory building and electronics?

Cronjob stopping randomly on one of my personal servers. >nohup sleep X ... fixed :)

Rebuilding some of my servers to be less experimental unhinged difficult to manage abominations, and I can't help but want to also make the new ones unhinged experimental difficult to manage abominations. At least my network will stay docker free.

THATS IT. The intrusive thoughts win. Im playing' The Cleveland Show' theme on accordion.

I can now say I would not recommend getting acetone in a fresh open blister wound, its very unpleasant.

Bad weekend news: got very sunburnt. Good weekend news: got very large cent.

Itll still get a little darker as it hardens but the tung oil on the Garand stock turned out DAMN good. I would never use anything but raw linseed on an original, but I like the way this turned out more than the look of the originals. It should be more durable too since tung oil is much more forgiving of scratches and dings when it hardens. My stock had a scuff from the factory that kind of makes me want to add more dings and "character" so it doesn'tstand out, but that may be hard...

Booted windows for the first time in a while and had to dismiss four full screen nagware prompts to "PLSSS SET UP MORE SPYWARE PLSSSSSS" No wonder non-linux users just use their phone for everything now.

It is such an absolute nightmare trying to buy marketplace health insurance in the US. I'm paying for it 100% out of pocket with no subsidy but I still had to submit forms to the government proving I don't have health insurance, forms my last employer waited weeks to send out, and then the government website broke with an unspecified error and I had to snail mail the documents. 1 month later, still no insurance. Cant wait to follow this up with the medication approval ordeal.

I was refinishing some reproduction M1 Garand furniture and made a little fucky-wucky. Since its not original I wanted to do tung oil instead of linseed oil so I can easily tell it apart from my Navy Garand and I noticed I had a can of the stuff despite having a distinct memory of using the last of my tung oil last fall. Welp, applied a coat which seemed very thin after mixing with 1 part mineral spirits, and then noticed it was nearly entirely dry when I checked on it after just six hours.

Discovering Hy-Vee still does fresh blueberry bagels has probably lowered my nutritional intake to that of the average medieval peasant.

A little stray black kitty I've never seen before greeted me in the alley, but when I reached to pet it, it jumped two feet in the air and fled at the speed of light. That kitty was half the size of the others near my house, I hope it doesnt get attacked. I see the other small cat it's size ripping woodchucks apart in the road all the time, the little ones can be spicy.

I think I mostly fixed my La Tosca Fiesta accordion, at least to the point it's usable. Some of the notes barely play or require way more bellows than they should but they don't sound like someone farting underwater anymore. Excited to get back into it. If it causes me too many problems I'll invest in one that isn't from the 50s and wasn't repaired by a dipshit with a soldering iron.

Can't run this weekend due to overtime, so figured I'd burn all the fuel in the tank lol

I've pretty much decided to get a 'new' (to me) accordion that's fully in tune. Liberty has a Chinese Parrot model that looks fairly new and is cheap. They also have a couple vintage Italian models around the same price, but I'm so tired of dealing with antique wax and leather when I just want to practice. They seem to have a good warranty policy but I really want to avoid shipping accordions around if I can.

Final month of this job, I've started slipping naval terms into work communication. "The aft server rack, it's between the clew and foot of the rack." I'm going to get murdered.

On the bright side, the Google thing reminds us death grip monopolies can be broken up quite easily. Just wait until they inevitably get taken over by nepobabies that surround themselves with yesmen and have no understanding of why their product is successful and POOF!

My kitty is not doing good. He has a vet appointment tomorrow, but Its almost certainly going to be to put him down. Hes been my best friend for 18 years and Im trying to make him as comfortable as possible but its really hard to see him like this. I wish he would have gone peacefully in his sleep.

Opened my pong console to look at chips and found it had ancient batteries in it. Thankfully they don't seem to have leaked.

I have never seen a food product brag about their bad past FDA rating before. I mean it got me to buy it so it works.

Ewaste room is LITTERALLY full of old TFT monitors and my boss was strongly hinting I should steal the old monitors I'm retrieving as I replace them. Sir, you aren't going to Tom Sawyer me into taking your ewaste.

I set up a new Minecraft tech mod server for my friends, but it seems I'm probably going to spend more time securing, optimizing, and adding unnecessary scripts to the server hosting it than my friends will spend playing it. This is the Star Wars Galaxies server all over again.

Seeing the entire US economy being reorganized in a WW2 magnitude of mobilization to build a surveillance state 100x more invasive than the Chinese system we've been hearing about for years is literally making me depressed. It feels like all the crises are about to culminate in things getting really really bad and the government's plan is just brute force suppression through making people afraid to talk freely without their conversations being logged and analyzed for dissent.

A full week of back and forth between the pharmacy and doctor office trying to get my prescription filled. Now the doctor's office said they sent it in on the 1st, which would be a week before they can legally refill it... I think they're just lying now. Oh well. The brain will just be in fun mode for another week.

#RC2014 pro is done and booting to basic! Next step is testing CPM and either torturing it with the programs I wrote for my Osborne 1 or connecting a weird computer to use as a terminal.

The AC is broken in the office, which would be fine, but for some reason the boiler vents it's heat into my office and the two next to it. The other two offices belong to executives so they just went "welp" and left, lol.

Seeing max7219 chips are like 20 bucks a piece now, I thought I'd try one of the 50 cent Chinese clones. There's tons of crappy dot matrix stuff being driven by them, so they must mostly work, I thought. This description does not inspire confidence.

Ive always wanted a midi accordion so I can practice with headphones, but the only ones I ever could find were warsaw pact sketchy house burning machines. I should make one.

Does anyone have any recommendations on books to really learn reverse proxies and #NGINX? The ones I've found seem to have little to no reviews and I don't want to pay for AI generated crap. I really can't learn from videos at all. #textbooks #systemsadministration #sysop #selfhosting
