  People don't get the significance of the Trump Decoy story. Trump made public announcements of switching from the Qatar-bribe 747 to the older Air Force One because of security concerns. He made a public show of boarding that plane and then was secreted out the back reportedly in a catering container, which was then transported across the airport via a catering vehicle and loaded about a C-32A executive transport plane (usually used as Air Force Two or transporting the Secretary of State).

  I used to wonder why humanity changed to live underground and became the Morlocks in the HGW's Time Machine. The present war between Ukraine and Russia has supplied a hypothetical answer. Drones represent a "pure" offensive weapon which is very difficult to defend against 100% and thus any target is vulnerable if you want it badly enough.

  Sounds like several ships have been hit trying to transit Hormuz and are burning/abandoned. One is a brand new 950 foot long tanker - bigger than the old Panamax standard.

  Spent the day yesterday checking out the frescoe covered churches in Veria. Highlights were the Old Metropolitan and the Church of the Resurrection. The first had some of the best frescoes I've seen since Serbia and the later has both frescoes and a floor made up of spolia. One of the stones featured multiple Nine Men's Morris boards on it. I also visited the local archeology museum. Here is from the Church of the Resurrection.

  I think it really goes to the heart of just how fucked up things are in the US that it is seriously in doubt that a major figure of the US Senate is still alive and that the possibility exists that a fiction is being advanced for political conveniences. This is some Soviet Union level bullshit, where the world would watch the Moscow Victory Day parades to see who was still alive and in what degree of favor.

  Does anybody have any experience of visiting North Macedonia from Serbia? I am currently in Novi Sad and trying to figure out the best way to get there. I prefer to take the train where possible due to greater physical comfort of travel and ability to keep an eye on my bags. I'm thinking taxi to Petrovaradin station, train into Belgrade, train from Belgrade to Niš, then stay the night and take bus to Skopje in North Macedonia the next day. Wondering about where/how they do passport contr...

  Well, I went ahead and ordered a new laptop. Bah. It's not really quite what I'd wish in a new machine, but it ticks a lot of boxes in terms of fulfilling my basic requirements, is actually available (which I can't actually say for a lot of models I considered).

  So, apparently Iran has in at least a couple dozen instances used a type of ballistic missile which carries up to 80 cluster munitions, which hit at high speed and explore on impact. They're using them in a fairly novel way, with dispersal happening high up in the atmosphere, at 20k+ feet. This has a couple of effects.

  A few pictures from my late afternoon visit yesterday to what was once referred to as the "Hard town of Kruševac," the fortified city started by Prince Lazar in 1370. The biggest remains are the ruins on the Donjon and it's surviving dry ditch, and the church, which was desecrated by the Ottomans and used for gunpowder storage.   Lol, just learned that the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve was sitting at ~56% of capacity when Trump decided to bomb Iran. We didn't even fill up the tank before going to war.

  It seems like there are more questions surrounding the sinking of the Iranian frigate IRIS Dena. The ship may have not have been carrying any ammunition, as it was taking part in a joint exercise/foreign visit to India. The US had been a participant in those exercises and pulled out shortly before they began. So, they would have known India's terms for participation and that the Iranian frigate was unarmed.

  @ChrisMayLA6@zirk.us That long decline, which I think a lot of Americans must feel in their bones, even while not being able to articulate it, is in large part the appeal of the MAGA "movement" and why it connects with so many. It lets them lay the blame for that decline on others, whether that is China, immigrants, godless liberals, elites, globalists - a barely concealed euphamism for Jews, LGBT. It is inarticulate raging with an inarticulate demagogue as its figurehead.
