@Heterokromia @xssfox Why aren't there programs to install second-hand panels for people who can't afford new ones? I'm no solar expert but even at 50% of originally installed capacity that's still better than none!

I can carry one panel reasonably comfortably and last time I tried I could easily pick up a truck. /s More tired bullshit from people scared of change? Or maybe someone who's now highly embarrassed by their order of magnitude errors? Or just someone who shouldn't be allowed near numbers?

@Heterokromia The article has been updated. I'm guessing the wrong units were used. "Early government forecasts compiled from self-reported industry data have suggested up to 50 million solar panels may become waste by 2035, equating to around 1 million tonnes of waste."

@Heterokromia Did they update the story? Reading it now (no notice issued says it was updated?) it says 50 million panels. Edits: fixing text, re adding the photo that didn't attach the first time, re adding the photo again cropped properly this time. Ugh.
