@Thayer JFC I am *so* far past AI replacing people at this stage. Smash the fucking looms.

@Thayer Wow, that's really bad. Thanks for sharing. Now I'm thinking about this happening with people who aren't knowledgeable about their meds, and maybe won't even notice.

@Thayer Hugs. All things crossed you can get this sorted quickly

@Thayer I’m not sure if this will help, but the same NHS guidelines that require medical practitioners to use this AI transcription nonsense also requires them to accept personal liability for all errors in the transcription. If you remind the doctor of this and give them the opportunity to correct it, they may choose to do this.

@Thayer Ouch. I hope you are able to get this sorted soon
-
@penguin42@mastodon.org.uk 2026-02-02 19:56
@Thayer hmm, is that something you can fast track via going through data-protection stuff?

@kitten_tech@fosstodon.org 2026-02-02 20:07
@Thayer ahhh that sucks and I am now vicariously feeling that "suffering at the hands of stupid bureaucracy with no simple recourse despite their mistake having real consequences for you" feeling, which I last felt a week ago when the government made schools ban mobile devices (despite my child having dyslexia+ADHD coping mechanisms that rely on her phone) 🤬

@Thayer god, what the actual fuck. I'm so sorry. Hope it won't take too long to fix this. What a mess. I hate this world.

@dwlt@mastodon.me.uk 2026-02-02 20:16
@Thayer jfc - I’ve seen meeting transcripts at work capture the exact opposite point, but that has no impact on anything important. Tantamount to negligence, surely?
-
@dhwthompson@mastodon.social 2026-02-02 20:19
@Thayer Oh, fuck everything about this. I’m so sorry.
-
@gimulnautti@mastodon.green 2026-02-02 20:49
@Thayer And just wait until the AI companies have to start taking in state money to cover for their losses, which is when these stop being mistakes and become politically deliberate skews of the results... Total dystopia just starting.

@LadyHutch@mastodon.social 2026-02-02 21:15
@Thayer that’s terrifying. How stressful for you
-
@ireneista@adhd.irenes.space 2026-02-02 21:15
@Thayer oh that's horrifying
-
@mhp@mastodon.social 2026-02-02 21:27
@Thayer Good grief. So glad that you a) checked it, and b) have the documents to argue the correction. I wonder how many people have had this sort of thing happen and not noticed or were not in a position to get it fixed.
-
@wikitect@mas.to 2026-02-02 21:39
@Thayer but it looks as though it was labelled as ‘AI’? It would be a lot scarier if it wasn’t marked as such.
-
@static@aus.social 2026-02-02 22:16
@Thayer You might be able to see the practice manager of whoever generated this a lot sooner than six months and get it corrected that way.
-
@kimlockhartga@beige.party 2026-02-02 22:22
@Thayer this is so wrong.
-
@sanityinc@hachyderm.io 2026-02-02 22:59
@Thayer Wow, that's so dumb and frustrating. Hope an actual human with sense can straighten things out for you.
-
@stylus@social.afront.org 2026-02-02 23:05
@Thayer this shit is gonna kill people. I'm so sorry this is something you have to deal with now. 😭
-
@aka_panda_333@mastodon.social 2026-02-03 00:25
@Thayer this shit shouldn't be happening, but really, is it not human error? its not necessarily the ai that is bad, sometimes even human notetakers get stuff wrong. It's up to the doctor or nurse to verify the information the notetaker took down. Again, not trying to minimize your situation at all, but what's dystopian is needing to wait for healthcare and the doctor not verifying orders, not necessarily the ai's involvement.
-
@theplaguedoc@glitterkitten.co.uk 2026-02-03 01:01
@Thayer This is exactly why I am so resistant to the use of generative AI in any form in my practice. I'm sorry this has happened and I hope that the person responsible is accessible (try their secretary rather than waiting to go through GP) and willing to rectify the matter promptly; if not I would suggest immediately contacting the complaints department of whichever organisation is responsible for the clinic.

@Thayer holy shit, I would be beyond furious. That would result in me being bedridden again until resolved, that is *not* a little issue. -.-
