@evacide@hachyderm.io I've had to order new packs of (100) cheques a few times. It used to feel like I was such a grownup doing big money things..... now it feels very novelty/funny.

@evacide@hachyderm.io I’ve learned about the concept of checks at school. Still, the only time I’ve actually seen one was when I was sent one from the US. The bank wanted 20€ just for processing it.

@evacide@hachyderm.io I may be the only person of my age in my friend group that has a physical checkbook. I think it’s about 15 years old. Like, not the box of checks, the singular checkbook.

@evacide@hachyderm.io I still need to accept, endorse, and deposit checks at my job because old people somehow think they're more secure than a debit card even though they're handing out slips of paper with their name, address, account and routing numbers, and samples of their handwriting on them. 🤷
