@evacide@hachyderm.io I still need to accept, endorse, and deposit checks at my job because old people somehow think they're more secure than a debit card even though they're handing out slips of paper with their name, address, account and routing numbers, and samples of their handwriting on them. 🤷

@pendell@mastodon.social @evacide@hachyderm.io but then again, I’ve never paid any by check and then had them keep adding unauthorized charges against my accounts. My medicare provider did it constantly until I revoked that card. Hmmm.

My mother would often use checks knowing they would take several days to clear and hoping she would have the money to cover it by then. Like if the kitchen was empty on Wednesday but she didn't get paid till Friday she would buy food on Wednesday hoping the check wouldn't clear till atleast Friday.
