@eickefrohwein@social.cologne US East Coast, born in Florida now living in New York. I've always pronounced with "row-ter". Working and playing/hobbying in tech/PCs for 30+ years. There's a US/North America plumbing company/franchiser named Roto-Rooter that provides a direct contrast for pronunciation.

@eickefrohwein@social.cologne Because of your poll, I need to check myself into a mental institution for unresolvable mental conflict. I can't figure out how I would say it naturally. Perhaps I use both in english, and only use roo in french. However, it gets worse, I *think* I say the box is used to roote traffic using r-outing tables.
