I mean absolutely no disrespect to Taylor Swift there. She's a multi-talented artist who has broken barriers and taken on the people, the industry men, who wanted to profit by controlling her. She has spoken up for ordinary people and especially young women. I just like the fact that the Fediverse is not that interested in celebrity spectacle-weddings. Or maybe most of us are just too old to stay up late for them.

Swift’s wedding shut down the MSG area and made the surrounding businesses lose money, which wouldn’t have happened if she’d held it at some gorgeous private estate. And setting aside her very real talents and achievements, I find some of her business practices, use (or non-use) of her platform, and connections problematic, alongside the fact that there are no ethical billionaires. So if you DID mean her some disrespect, I wouldn’t mind.😁

@CiaraNi@mastodon.green I myself care more about Bonnie Tyler than Taylor Swift, and I'm on the Fediverse because I think it's healthy to have smaller, more deliberate communities. But I wish the hundreds of millions of Swifties were more present here too.
