@CiaraNi@mastodon.green Grumpy New Yorker here. Swift’s wedding shut down the MSG area and made the surrounding businesses lose money, which wouldn’t have happened if she’d held it at some gorgeous private estate. And setting aside her very real talents and achievements, I find some of her business practices, use (or non-use) of her platform, and connections problematic, alongside the fact that there are no ethical billionaires. So if you DID mean her some disrespect, I wouldn’t mind.😁

@bluejay@ohai.social I was just trying to avoid anyone turning my comment about the difference in attention between Swift's wedding and Tyler's death into 'we're too cool', looking down on a popular singer whose popular music makes millions of people happy. (I know that's not what you are saying!) I only have surface knowledge of her, I don't know the details. I don't think anyone's wedding should disrupt a city. I particularly blame city authorities that give them permission.

@bluejay@ohai.social An ICE contractor was invited to that wedding. Super glad that me & none of my close friends were ever Swifties. @CiaraNi@mastodon.green
