@vlrny@disabled.social The closest I came to death was a near drowning in Class IV rapids. I only survived because the ice cold water sent me into shock, preventing me from fighting the current. My only option was to let it take me and try to work with the water. And it worked. I got back to shore, vision mostly gone from oxygen deprivation. I survived and made a full recovery after only a day. All because instead of trying to control the river, I chose how to steer.
