Some sadness this week, as someone I knew in the US has died. Her name was Mary. She was one of my professors, and became a dear friend. We often joked about being born in the same year. Last year, a mutual friend visited Canberra and brought me a card, which I posted here, with messages from people who knew me there, 25 years ago. Mary had Parkinsons, but wrote a few words, which I treasure. I’ll be thinking of Mary, her family, friends and colleagues on the day of her memorial gathering. Her friendship was a gift to me. ❤️💔
