Is it just me or do the macOS Contacts and Calendar apps feel like basically abandonware? I can&#39;t think of a single meaningful change to either of them in *checks watch* the past decade. In today&#39;s &quot;ugh really&quot;… there&#39;s no way to remove people from the automatic &quot;Birthdays&quot; calendar who&#39;re dead. Nor are there ways to track anniversaries that *aren&#39;t* birthdays. Seems like utterly basic 1.0 functionality you&#39;d want in the feature that&#39;s just not there. What are these teams working on?!

@davedelong@mastodon.social The macOS Contacts app lets you copy an address but there's no option to copy an email address or phone number. HOW? I filed feedback about this in 2021!

@davedelong@mastodon.social I have long thought about making my own contacts app because it‘s so basic (and annoying). Maybe now it‘s old and broken enough to try? 😅 Wait, Flexibits already has that covered, don‘t they?

@davedelong@mastodon.social My queendom for the ability to “archive” contacts (because they’re deceased or otherwise) so they don’t show up in searches and such, but the name still is attached to text chats and so on

@davedelong@mastodon.social the only thing that comes to mind is reminders in calendar, which I’m guessing came from the reminders team that *does* seem staffed.
