@davedelong@mastodon.social I have long thought about making my own contacts app because it‘s so basic (and annoying). Maybe now it‘s old and broken enough to try? 😅
Wait, Flexibits already has that covered, don‘t they?

@cocoafrog@hachyderm.io the problem i've found with 3rd party apps isn't the app, it's the integration. Working with my iCloud account is an absolute must-have for me, but the underlying API is so pathetically anemic and lacking features that you can't actually write anything worthwhile using it; the EventKit and Contacts frameworks feel just as abandoned as the apps themselves. Again no meaningful improvement or additions in years.

@cocoafrog@hachyderm.io @davedelong@mastodon.social In 2012 members of the CoreOS (including a few of us on GameKit) proposed we create a People app that would centralise all your communication/interaction with, er, people. Sadly, Scott didn’t like the idea.
