  Another day, another attempt to used "typed throws" in Swift and being brutally reminded that it's only half-implemented 🤦‍♂️ Today it's that none of the continuation APIs support it.

  Sometimes things are just magic. I got on an airplane this morning and soon learned my old AirPods were on their last legs. At 30,000 feet, I ordered a new pair and they’re going to be waiting for me at the hotel front desk in a couple of hours. Meanwhile my flight lands in about 45 minutes. Crazy.

  It seems like every time I work on a #Swift project, I end up needing a comprehensive download management framework, yet haven't found anything adequate yet. I need things like: custom protocols (not just http downloads), progress reporting w/ estimation, pausing + resuming, named objects, hierarchical downloads, persisting in-progress info to disk, download queueing with max limits, and so much more. I hate having to reinvent this on literally every single project.

  Is it just me or do the macOS Contacts and Calendar apps feel like basically abandonware? I can't think of a single meaningful change to either of them in *checks watch* the past decade. In today's "ugh really"… there's no way to remove people from the automatic "Birthdays" calendar who're dead. Nor are there ways to track anniversaries that *aren't* birthdays.
