<p>I’ve been a software nerd since I was ten years old. I’m proud of what I accomplished in my thirty-five years building software — including ten years building iOS software for Apple — but when my wife, Caitlin, and I moved to Edinburgh in the autumn of 2024 with our five cats, I became fascinated with the history of our adopted home. The more I learned the more I pestered my wife with constant interruptions of “did you know random curious fact?”</p><p>Now I make shit up and write it down.</p>

In light of our impending move to the Netherlands¹, can anyone recommend Dutch language classes for cats? I don’t want our kids to have trouble socialising. ¹ Because the chuckleheads in London whether Tory or Labour.

Now that the American government has demonstrated that assassination is an “acceptable alternative” to diplomacy, what are the odds on a nation getting too frustrated with Trump’s tariffs or dementia-driven demagoguery and opting for the American Alternative?

The only thing I want to see in iOS/macOS 27 is Apple rolling back Liquid Glass. Maturity means admitting your mistakes.
