@siracusa is there any way to pinky swear I'm taking my life into my own hands and get around this check?

I’m use to paying more than I want for Apple products, but there is a certain category that is so expensive, every time I see the price I’m shocked all over again. Pro Display was one of those. AirPods Max is another. And I even own those!

Do you think more tv and movies are watched on iPad or Apple TV (the device)?

The little finder guy ads make me so optimistic for the Mac. They remind me of the old “I’m a mac” commercials. Just casually explaining cool things about the Mac.

What if liquid glass had skipped iOS 7…

A 24 hour 3D print makes me nervous but I’m sure this guy will be worth the wait.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@film_girl/116205927751769992 I really wonder how Apple thinks about the refurb / used market when introducing these budget devices. With the iPhone 16e, it seemed like a good deal compared to all the new options, but a used Pro was about the same price and had better specs. I think a lot of people are nervous about refurb devices though. And I suppose if people bought them more the supply would dry up.

Is it just me or has Xcode's git status gotten really buggy? The changed file indicators never seem to get cleared. That's always been the case but it use to be that I could restart and it would refresh them. Now the side of the editor is just a permanent stripe.

I think a good way to describe the MacBook Neo is the Mac that will work for anyone but not the one anyone would prefer (other than for cost reasons). It should be able to edit video or compile code etc. but even if all you do is browse the web I think pretty much anyone would be happier with at least an Air. But that’s ok. People ask me for advice on buying a Mac all the time, almost always with an attitude of “how little can I spend”. And it’s nice to be able to give them this option.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@mikepj/116166036425980917 I have the Dell 6k and it really is a very nice size. Weird to see Apple going backwards.

RE: https://mastodon.online/@nikitonsky/116165574491936605 Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but I think “TUI”s are a really bad idea. Either give me a natural CLI or an app but rewriting my terminal’s content 30 times a second is problematic.

Is this just referring to macOS in general?

I’m sure every one of these emails shows great metrics when they were rolled out, but this is just crazy. Imagine looking at a pair of headphones at bestbuy, having your son be very mature and say his current ones were good enough, and then while you’re out at dinner the manager kept coming in and asking “are you sure?”

RE: https://iosdev.space/@DeepDishSwift/116093695661165233 I’m absolutely beyond excited for this. Like I will make this my entire personality going forward. Also my friends and family will probably be relieved I have someone else to talk to about connectivity.
