Good news: I was charting yesterday on the Mac App Store. Bad news: I didn't remember that Mac compatibility was enabled and never tested it. The app crashed at launch on Mac. 😬 @ikenndac and @mergesort got me sorted and I'm in expedited review right now.

TIL that your Apple Watch won't unlock your Mac if a sleep focus is active.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@twostraws/116851013771805799 This blog post is from 2019 and I remember it had a huge impact on me. I still do this today!

You've still got to be so careful when dealing with IAP in your app. My app's latest build passed review and is in a "pending developer release" state. It would be so easy to hit that release button but upon closer inspection the IAP is still "in review".

During WWDC I got some great design feedback that What's My Set wasn't using the available space well in landscape mode. Addressing that now!

Thank you so much @hiro for this nice mention of What's My Set in this week's Hiro Report! https://www.hiro.report/05jul2026-bigfoot-body-parts/

As a certified dark mode hater I have been able to get away with having Xcode in light mode but the code window in a dark theme (which I strangely like). I can import the theme with Xcode 27 but it makes the WHOLE interface dark even though the configuration window correctly uses the selected light mode. FB23456652 #Xcode

It’s 2025 and I can’t sign up for a T-Mobile free trial because their form doesn’t think that a two character last name is a valid name. 🙄

In my talk at Swift Leeds I mentioned that I sometimes still use print instead of Logger because some things can get truncated. Apple just wrote back to me about this scenario I opened, where it happens to Double latitude/longitude values. I figured out if I convert the value to String first then Logger shows the same value print does.

I'm going to be real and admit that I had some worries about the Indie Fair last year at CommunityKit. Would we be able to pull it off? It went SO WELL and (IMO) ended up being the shining star of the whole experience. We're doing it again this year and signups are live now if you want to show off your apps! https://mastodon.social/@CommunityKit/116448914899227818

Me: I should go to bed not so late tonight. Also me: loading up on tiramisu and Coca Cola at the RevenueCat happy hour.

Congratulations to the winners. I was part of the bronze medal team.

@peterfriese @MattHeaney23 did we just turn Peter Friese into a Slurpee fan? 🤯

@ay8s your pin looks so good! FYI, in the on boarding the text gets cut off if you have the text size bumped up a little bit (not an accessibility size).

The enamel pin for @alpenglowapp is gorgeous and the packaging has an App Clip on the back of it!

@everyplace glad you stopped me at deep dish!

Always a mixture of sadness and happy memories when @DeepDishSwift is over. While it will be so hard for me to give up skeuomorphism again I do love this 8 bit theme for next year!

@craiggrannell@mastodon.social but 60 seconds of a web search could have verified who you are. 😵‍💫

I realized that there's a VoiceOver issue with SwiftUI Text(timerInterval:). If it's more than 1 hour away VO will say "hours", "minutes", and "seconds". For example, “3 hours, 2 minutes, 12 seconds”. But if it’s less than 1 hour left it won’t say any of them! For example, “2 12”. That could easily be confused for a time instead of time remaining. FB22301456 #accessibility #a11y #SwiftUI

When I was driving today CarPlay would not let me use the Apple Music app until I stopped moving and looked at something on my iPhone. It was the “what’s new” sheet for iOS 26.4. 😐

I can’t think of a scenario where I would ever want to ask an Amazon AI shopping assistant this question.

RE: https://mastodon.gamedev.place/@joethephish/116323556837762850 This is the kind of app that inspires me: fun, beautiful, useful. It’s so good. I assumed that I would easily find a bug with time zones but Joseph outsmarted me and pretends that they don’t exist. He really did get something out of being in the audience for my time zone talk at Swift Leeds.

*Every* single time that I help my mom with something on her iPhone I see UI elements that make me cringe. She has a pro and really doesn't have her text size set that large! 🤦🏻‍♂️ #accessibility #a11y

My talk from @SwiftLeeds has been posted!! 😱 I had to force myself to apply for this (my first talk ever) but I'm so glad that I did because it was an incredible experience. Thank you Swift Leeds team! Blog post coming eventually... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MXlt97eTCE

My mom continues to be my best beta tester. Got a call from her saying that Museum Shuffle was broken. Turns out the Rijksmuseum API that I use was deprecated and uses a completely different API now. I had no idea! Thanks for the heads up @mathijsb !
