@MuseumShuffle@mastodon.social You can have a few letters from mine, it’s too long. How about Wuzer?

@MuseumShuffle@mastodon.social I once experienced a shop that wouldn't accept my first name because it's too short. When I wrote the complaint I realized that the shop owner was a guy named Dirk.

@MuseumShuffle@mastodon.social Ah, the (hopefully not) eternal life struggle. I have an apostrophe in my last name. Sometimes the computer says it’s ok, most of the time it says it’s not. It’s really fun having a gubment system tell me my own name has an illegal character in it

@MuseumShuffle@mastodon.social I feel your pain.. some forms won't believe a two character first name is possible either. Both my grandmothers had 3 or 4 long first names so my parents rebelled and called me Jo!

@MuseumShuffle@mastodon.social Just wait 'til Malcolm X tries to sign up. *yes, I realize that being dead is probably the least of the reasons that Friend X would never bother to try

@MuseumShuffle@mastodon.social I used to work at an international airport. I had to ask a man why his passport had his surname as (single letter), while his boarding pass had his surname as (that same single letter, but twice). The airline system was programmed with a two-letter minimum. Because they "knew" nobody has a one-letter surname.

@MuseumShuffle@mastodon.social I can somewhat empathise as I used to have a hyphenated surname that was 16 characters and there was a 15 character limit in a lot of cases.
