@digichelle I use fastmail and really like it. They let me change my username/email when I changed my name. I didn't have to ask, it's just right there in the settings. They integrate well with bitwarden if you like to use masked email addresses, too.

@digichelle I use Fastmail for my work email and it's really nice. I used Zoho for a while and it was ok. Proton didn't work for me with the lack of searching. I just switched to Infomaniak for my personal email because I get so little of it that I care about and want to be free of Gmail. It's a little less polished than others but it's functional

@digichelle check out @startmail as well. Have used @protonprivacy mail and @Tutanota but Startmail was the winner for me due to their alias feature. The others were good as well, just not exactly what I needed.

@digichelle I switched to posteo last year. They’re independent & based in the EU. I’m very happy with them, many ways to customise your mailbox and add safety features. Small monthly fee ( 1 EUR) which is totally worth it.

@digichelle Posteo is my choice. German hosted, PGP encryption supported, very affordable, and runs off of renewable energy! Simple. Full email encryption isn't a huge priority for me which is why I didn't spring for Tuta, otherwise I would have gone with that. Email wasn't designed to run that way and my threat model can tolerate it. Plus, there are loads of other encryption options.

@digichelle I started using Tuta about a year and a half ago. I use the free version and it has worked out. I will probably upgrade to the paid tier in a few months. I had a hard time choosing from all the decent non-Google choices. In the end, I just made a choice and went with it. I decided leaving Google is more important than whether I pick the "best" email service. And the sooner the better.

@digichelle I've been using Fastmail about 6 years and I'm happy with it. I've four different domains I can send email "from" with it and they all use the same inbox. I found it straightforward.

@digichelle I am using Tuta for a few years. I trust them, they say they don't have debts/investors. I like using Tuta - Desktop client and Android client.
