@hazelweakly@hachyderm.io I vaguely remember a court interpreting a thumbs up as a "yes". I think that was on text messages, but, unless I'm misremembering, precedent says thumbs up Emojis are the same as "yes"

@hazelweakly@hachyderm.io microsoft implemented this! if the recipient doesn't have the protocol enabled, it sends a formatted e-mail explaining that someone reacted to your message. got these once or twice at college.

@hazelweakly@hachyderm.io I think a "reactji", if that's what we're calling them, is only acceptable as an even shorter (and arguably less intrusive) "ack". Everything that couldn't be sent as "ack" should be actually typed out imo.
