@hazelweakly@hachyderm.io microsoft implemented this! if the recipient doesn't have the protocol enabled, it sends a formatted e-mail explaining that someone reacted to your message. got these once or twice at college.

@pinecone460@social.seattle.wa.us @hazelweakly@hachyderm.io android and ios users attempting to communicate across arbitrarily different bubble colors vibes...except ironically in the case of email this is arguably a good thing, an extension of Microsoft's inconsistent obsession with backwards compatibility. What a strange world we live in, especially us tech nerds.
