I think anything more would be overkill at this point.” I think he ended up deleting his account. :) Or when the guy told Margaret Atwood what the author of The Handmaid’s Tale really meant. :)

@lisamelton@mastodon.social I had a coworker mansplain something to me once so hard that he destroyed a transmission and got to pay for the parts to fix it. I got paid to fix the original problem and his newly created one so it was ok in the end for me.

@lisamelton My favorite is, "I don't know anything about that. But you're wrong." I once had a coworker try to get back up for my wrongness by calling an engineer at the vendor. Who said, "I've taken that card in the lab, and put 10v on it an 0v on it, and it works fine." This guy was a BSEE. So I just said, "You know there's no such thing as 0v, right? So did you turn power on/off, or did you ground it?" Neither one ever said, "Oh, my mistake." But I enjoyed their pain.

@lisamelton recently saw a yt video where a gamedev explained why their RTS solo project looks so advanced, and they went through a bunch of techniques, describing them like they were original discoveries. it felt odd and condescending until i noticed the needless contrastive statements in there and realized they had the bot write this. so... you can't hear the em dashes but listen for the formulaic phrasings... just realized, if it sounds this way it's because it was new to *them*

@lisamelton@mastodon.social For my last two years on Twitter, and my first three years on Mastodon, I used to post a reply to mansplainer complaints - the "From where does a mansplainer get his glass of water ..." joke. After 5 years, I was tired of doing that (and the joke was OLD). I cannot imagine how tired women are of this nonsense.
