The first four minutes of @cabel's talk were kind of a sweet, cheerful revisiting and update of ideas from his previous talk and a check-in on Panic, which is great—and then the McDonald's mural arrived and everything took a TURN I don't think I've ever needed to do a "no spoilers!!" warning before about a talk, but if you can go into this cold, do https://xoxofest.com/2024/videos/cabel-sasser/

The only other thing I will say is that I have *never* experienced the kind of crowd reaction this got, anywhere, ever.

@kissane @cabel Thank you for this! I never would have found it on my own (this conference not on my radar, and not really my scene?) but WOW - effective and affecting. Fun, and touching.

@kissane @cabel this was a joy, thank you for putting it in front of my face! Cabel - I have been following you a while but I'm such a scatterbrain I hadn't realised all the things you've done. I follow you because you *do* notice all the things and go down all the rabbit holes and then share what you discover with us, and it's wonderful. Don't stop.

@kissane @cabel This really made me think because I used to go back and forth between Seattle and Portland and _saw_ this mural many times. And noticed how bizarre and cool it was. But never thought to do anything about it.

@kissane @cabel That was stunning! I was skeptical, but figured I’d stick it out for 4 minutes. Of course, I ended up watching the whole thing. Thanks for sharing it here 😀🎨🖌️

@kissane thank you for highlighting the talk. That was really lovely. Per the instructions, I sent a thank you message to a podcast guest I enjoyed today. What a nice way to interstitch communities.

@kissane @cabel That was amazing! And you’re right, @cabel — we should all make more of an effort to treasure both the work and the people behind it. Now more than ever.

@kissane I’ve watched this four times and it hasn’t stopped being spellbinding and uplifting. @cabel is a masterful presenter, especially in that, in a perfectly composed and paced presentation, everything feels like it’s straight off the top of his head.
