The antibiotic, augmentin, according to whatever research has been done, either kills gut bacteria that helps maintain healthy estrogen levels or is an anti-estrogen, which makes hormonal birth control ineffective. They won't say it, but it seems to also adversely affect HRT. That may lead to trouble. And there seems to be little, if any, interest in finding out more about it. Until they do, it is probably a Real Good Idea to avoid augmentin, IMO. (This message brought to you by an overall bad experience with augmentin.) #WomensHealth #TransHealth #Healthcare
