Majel Barrett played in "The Cage" Captain Pike's "Number One". After Pike is kidnapped by the mysterious Talosians, she has to step up and run the show. And she is a total badass - 15 years before Alien's Ripley. #Feminism was not invented during the shooting of "Captain Marvel". Majel is quite amazing in this role, while being completely stoic and unpretentious. #startrek #majelbarrett #thecage #pilot

The actor Jeffrey Hunter was cast to be the lead of the new Star Trek series in the 1964 pilot. It's not a bad choice. Hunter had a lot of charisma and beauty to spread around, and he certainly had the physique and the enticing appearance of a “complicated man”. Marilyn Monroe said about Hunter: “He has sort of — well, an all-encompassing type of magnetism.
