Lo riferiscono i media statali iraniani, come riporta Iran International. La coppia era sposata dal 1964. In precedenza erano stati segnalati gli omicidi delle mogli di alcuni dei figli della defunta Guida Suprema: Zahra Haddad Adel, moglie di Mojtaba Khamenei, Mojtaba Mesbah Yazdi, moglie di Hoda Khamenei, e Zahra Mohammadi Golpayegani, nipote del leader della Repubblica islamica.
