Il regime ha anche annunciato di aver intenzione di scegliere il successore della Guida suprema, che ha guidato il Paese per oltre 30 anni, nei prossimi due giorni. La Costituzione iraniana affida la scelta del successore all'Assemblea degli Esperti, composta da 88 religiosi, che delibera con un voto a porte chiuse.
