The big #sunspots once more today, during another #Bochum (Germany) #sunset: see https://bsky.app/profile/cosmos4u.bsky.social/post/3mphd34hrsk26 for two earlier and two later timesteps. Whole sequence there covering 3 minutes and 20 seconds ... about the duration of a good total solar eclipse. ;-)

Can you spot the #sunspots here? A very hazy Bochum sunset today, but one from 4478 and both from 4479 are present in the lower right sector of the Sun.

Even with a fairly early morning start, the day's heat set in, roiling the air and overheating both astronomer and computer! The astronomer sweated. The computer became glitchy. Results were good, however, and today we're comparing views in color vs. monochrome, and white light vs. hydrogen-alpha. Earth's star was very photogenic today! Tracking sunspots? They are, top to bottom, at active regions 4479, 4478, and 4480. Clouds expected this July Fourth weekend. #sun #sunspots #astronomy

Estuve probando una nueva cámara, la SvBony sv205 con el Samurai, estoy muy conforme con la sensibilidad. Un par de imágenes obtenidas en estos días de las manchas solares y Alfa Centauri (componentes A y B). Muy superior a la que había probado previamente la Celestron NexImage5. La escala de placa es mucho menor con sa SvBony de 0.25"/px cuando con la NexImage era de 0.39"/px.
