#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager Star Trek loves teaching about the joy of making art. I guess it makes sens for creators to talk about creation. As such the characters with a background that is alien to art are the ultimate foil for the story. But this does put the character explaining art in an authority position. In case of Jean-Luc and Kathryn, it seems like they assume some kind of parental role over Data and 7 respectively. I guess it's even stronger in Kathryn's case since 7 have been a Borg since she was a child, while Data's "Childhood" is... not really though of. I don't know that the show ever consider Data a child, otherwise that second episode would have some very unfortunate implications.

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager Kathryn: "(Imagination, fantasy) aren't necessary." I don't know that they aren't necessary, but it's true that necessity is a bad way to approach them. It kinda goes against the concept.

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager Kathryn has a lot more to work with with seven than Jean-Luc had with Data... It would be so interesting to have Jean-Luc and Kathryn talk about their respective experiences. Of course this is in part a weakness of the show, redoing what TNG already did. But it's also interesting because of that. You get the perspective of two very different Captain on similar issues, and the answers don't always matches perfectly. Done not too often, I think it's nice.

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager Ok now a critic: This seems to walk into memory reconstruction therapy which are bullshits and actually harmful. This is an effective narrative trope, but this unfortunately vehicle harmful conceptions of how trauma works and should be treated. (I'm watching the last Sarah Z video also, so... the two stuff kinda collide in an unexpected way.)

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager 100% certain the raven isn't attacking her but trying to help her.

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager EMH continues to be the best and funniest character ever. "Physical consumption is inefficient and unnecessary if you're lucky enough to be a hologram." I can see you sighing in the background Kathryn. XD

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager What do you know about Neelix's coocking, EMH? Also don't they have working replicators by now?

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager Warp 3?? Look if you don't want Voyager to take the tourist road, at least allow them Warp 6. Oo At this point, in the place of Kathryn I would say "you know what, I think we'll just go around... Three month isn't worse the trouble." The other stipulation are kinda suspicious but also understandable. But the speed limit? It make it seems like they want Voyager to be seen, which is shady as heck.

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager And they have to submit Voyager to inspections too? Yeah no, I'll take the rockade, thank you.

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager Kathryn should not forget to teach 7 basic politeness. Yeah, yeah inefficient and all that, but 1) the whole intro was about doing something useless for the heck of it. 2) politeness helps you connect with people, and 7 needs all the help she can get in this area. Neelix is luckily understanding, but this would be useful in general.

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager EMH continues to be funny even when not in the scene. The writers have so much fun with him. XD

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager Oh no, I think 7 will have a flash back from Neelix's coocking. T_T

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager 7 is killing the mood. -_- Damn, poor Neelix. He didn't need or deserved to hear that. 7 of course don't understand, she's probably just trying small talk...

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager "Telaxian makes excellent drones." I bet she meant it as a compliment. -_-"

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager Jeri Ryan is really good at acting awkward.

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager I was not ready for Neelix's taking a parental role to 7. ^^"

#StarTrek #StarTrekVoyager Yep, here we go... the food gave her a flashback...
