I’m glad I finally got to see #HawkTheSlayer, though in retrospect I now realize I may have confused it with the better budgeted “Krull.” Still, it made for a worthy #Monsterdon flick.
Even if the plot was lifted from somebody’s AD&D campaign, any movie with Jack Palance chewing scenery, random synth music soundtrack, and death by silly string isn’t all bad. I loved that it took itself seriously, but not ponderously.
Great pick, everybody. Well done!

I got up late, haven't been commenting on Hawk the Slayer, but no joke this is one of my favorite fantasy movies. It has so little budget, but it's willing to do *anything* just like a D&D party. Hawk isn't the most emotional dude but he rides & fights OK. Giant & Dwarf are the *best*. I often had half-giants in my old D&D campaigns. The nuns, like all Clerics, are fucking useless. Synth soundtrack's kick-ass.
Old Man Palance is miscast as "brother" but still cool.

Okay so we have a 2 meter tall "giant", who's filmed like he's maybe 6'2" with thick boots.
And we have a "dwarf" who (according to the only site I can find info, in german) is 1.5 meters tall. But filmed like he's 5'5"
