In the category of "growing giant vegetables has Consequences" I give #BeginningOfTheEnd 5 out of 5 stars. It did pretty well on the Food of the Gods Bingo card, though not quite a #MonsterdonBingo.
Our leads --- a reporter with a war experience and an entomologist --- often sound like they know what they're talking about. The first third when they figure out what's happening is pretty good. The middle third when lots of military stock footage is composited with slightly grainy enlargements of grasshopper mainly marks time until a scientific solution is found. In the last, and shortest, third it works. All the bugs jump in the lake.
+1 for Chicago
-1 for killing a sympathetic deaf guy
+3 for crude but believeable effects
All in all, a watchable #monsterdon.
